When Research is a Collective Need

A private company, Phytodata Research Inc. has over 40 shareholders; its board of directors consists of four growers and an agronomist, Mr. Luc Brodeur. Created in 1991, when tax credits for agricultural R&D were becoming popular, it took flight in 1997 when shares were sold to more than 40 PRISME members wishing to invest in Research and Development.

Bringing Your Ideas to Life

Phytodata reseach’s services exist to:
  • Maximize the fiscal and financial benefits from research projects identified by PRISME and by other growers groups such as associations, unions and agri-environmental clubs;
  • Manage and execute research projects and technical trials;
  • Develop integrated pest control tools, including alternatives to chemicals;
  • Develop tools resulting from R&D, in addition to the transfer of knowledge acquired.

The Know-how of a Network of Experts

Since 1997, Phytodata Inc. has completed more that 50 R&D projects as well as agri-meteorological (HortiFax) and mapping services. It has undertaken production management trials for onions, lettuce and canning crops, developed biological pest controls to fight ragweed and tarnished plant bug.
